On November 15th, 2021, Renmin Business School (RMBS) and KPMG formally signed a strategic agreement on talent training and academia-industry collaboration.

As one of China’s premier business schools, Renmin Business School (RMBS) boasts the longest history of management education in China, dating back to 1950, and it is known as the pioneer of Chinese business education. The School’s strengths are grounded in the rich accumulation of intellectual assets of our parent university in the humanities and social sciences, a long standing tradition of close integration between theory and practice, high quality faculty, close engagement with enterprises and governments, and a large alumni base.

Professor YE Kangtao, Dean of RMBS, attended the ceremony and gave opening remarks. He introduced the school’s shift in strategy in October to focus on “digital transformation and high-quality growth of Chinese enterprises”, and explained that digital transformation is of vital importance to business growth. KPMG boasts cutting-edge technologies. The School will work closely with KPMG in training and research among other areas.

KPMG highly values the Chinese market, providing audit, tax and advisory services for years. With 28 offices across 25 cities in China, it continues to expand its network. Also, as a global organization of independent professional services firms that operates in 146 countries and regions, KPMG assists Chinese enterprises in dealing with the increasingly fierce international competitions and challenges.

GAO Zhiwei (David Ko), Head of Audit and Managing Partner in KPMG China said that KPMG will be open and innovative in working with RMBS to cultivate talents through internships, and joint training sessions and research. Students will, through experience and practice, learn to use advanced data analysis tools in auditing.

At the ceremony, YE Kangtao, Dean of RMBS, and GAO Zhiwei, Head of Audit and Managing Partner in KPMG China, signed the strategic cooperation agreement.

Main areas of cooperation include:

First, help students to retain knowledge and skills of digital audit and improve their innovation skills.

Second, have students join the KPMG Elite program and prepare them for employment and career advancement after graduation.

Third, promote academic exchanges, facilitate research on new topics, improve university-industry collaboration, and boost audit innovation.
